We are launching the UN Centre for Transnational Corporations (UNCTC)’s lost archive!

For too long, the Business and Human Rights community overlooked the long history of the people’s struggle to regulate transnational corporations. During my PhD, I struggled endlessly to find the archive of the hub of this struggle, the UNCTC which was established after Allende’s historic 1972 speech denouncing corporate intervention in his government. Years later, I was lucky enough to meet one of the Centre’s employees, who had the archive on a USB stick.

Shortly afterwards, I undertook a fellowship at the Laureate Program in Global Corporations and International Law at Melbourne Law School, where I met Andre Dao, who supervised the building of the website.

To launch the archive, me and Andre proposed a symposium on the issue, and we were happy to receive the enthusiastic contributions of colleagues now available on TWAILR.
